The halogen bulbs may be too dim in your 2022 Kia Soul, which can make vision difficult, especially in bad weather or severe driving conditions. Upgrading the old halogen bulbs on your 2022 Kia Soul with new aftermarket LED bulbs can add a great new look to your vehicle and improve visibility at night for a safer driving experience.
If you choose to upgrade your old halogen bulbs to new LED bulbs, it is best to confirm you have the correct replacement LED bulb by referring to the original bulb or the vehicle’s direct owner’s manual.
We will be replacing the third brake light in a 2022 Kia Soul with all new LED bulbs from ALLA Lighting.
Bulb size for the 2022 Kia Soul third brake light bulb is # 168 (T10)
Tools Needed for Installation:Â
- A flat trim tool
- Pliers
- 10 millimeter socket wrench
The following information is step by step instructions on how to install your new ALLA Lighting T10 2825 194 LED lights bulbs 12V SMD replacement for 168 158 194NAK OEM bulbs in your 2022 Kia Soul 3rd brake light (commonly known as the Center High Mount Stop Light)
Step #1
Let’s start by locating the third brake light application, open the vehicle trunk hatch, the plastic housing cover located on the inner trunk door will have three internal knobs.
Step #2
Using the flat trim tool start from one side and pry open. Here are the inner knobs, we will have to align these knobs with the housing opening upon reinstallation.
Step #3
The sockets will now be visible but attempting to pull out sockets will not be successful due to the cable wire being too short.
Step #4
We will have to locate the six bolts as seen here and remove them using a 10 millimeter socket wrench, be careful not to lose the bolts when removing.
Step #5
Once the six bolts are removed, remove the third brake light lens from the outside using the flat trim tool to remove the lens. The six bolts and the two knob openings will require alignment upon reinstallation.
Step #6
Now we see the six incandescent bulb sockets and the cable wire.
Step #7
Disconnect the connector first. Using pliers or other similar tool remove the sockets and repeat steps for the remaining five bolts. Also remove wires from plastic holders.
Step #8
Once all bulb sockets are removed pull out the incandescent bulbs.
Step #9
Replace them with all new alla lighting LED bulbs and test the LED lights.
Step #10
Insert the LED bulbs and socket back into the housing making sure to place the wires in their original locations.
Step #11
Next reconnect the plastic piece by sliding it in and pushing it.
Step #12
Align the lens assembly and push it.
Step #13
Insert the bolts that were previously removed in the six openings using the 10 millimeter socket wrench.
Step #14
Lastly align the three knobs of the plastic housing cover and push them in. you will hear three snaps.
