How to Install 2016 – 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 Low Beam LED Headlights bulbs?

Thirdly, we will show you the installation steps as below by pictures and words:

Step#1: Open the hood, locate the plastic cover at the top as below shows. (the vehicle in the video is 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 with projector-lens type headlamp)

Step#2: Use a flat fastener removal tool to remove all clips like below and then remove the cover:

Step#3: Use a 10MM socket to remove the 4 bolts, then pull the grill out from one side to the other side.

Step#4: Open a latch under the headlamp housing which lose to the front tire as below by using a flat tool

Step#5: When you open the plastic latch, you will see a white clip as below shows, push it up to release.

Step#6: Pull out the headlight assembly and disconnect the stock bulb’s wiring connection.

 

Step#7: Remove the dust cover by using a 8mm socket to remove all screws, and then remove the wiring connection, locate low beam bulb, twist the bulb counter clock-wise and remove the stock halogen bulb out of the headlamp’s housing

Step#8: Connect LED headlight bulb’s connector by plugging it into the stock harness and here click noise.

Step#9: Align the tab, insert the LED headlight bulb into the stock headlamp’s housing and twist clock-wise to lock it.Please make sure the LED bulb’s led chips facing left and right by checking. 

Step#10: Test the LED bulb by turn on the high beam switch to see whether it works. If it doesn’t work, please check the wiring correction or the LED headlight bulb that you have purchased is polarity version, if it is, please flip it and try to re-plug into the stock harness again to see how it works. 

Step#11: When the test completed, and the LED headlight bulb works, then please reinstall back the dust cover,  and the headlamp assembly.

Step#12: Pull down Step#5’s white clip to lock the assembly, For the other side, except no need to remove the air intake, the other procedures are the same. Finally install back the bolts, plastic covers too.

Important Notice: Due to the limit space for headlamp housing, please check the aftermarket LED headlight bulb’s dimension before purchasing to make sure it can fit into the housing and the dust cover can be installed back.
