The halogen interior bulbs may be too dim in your 2001-2023 Toyota Corolla, which can make vision difficult, especially in bad weather or severe driving conditions. The following information is step-by-step instructions on how to install your new LED Lights Bulbs 12V 1616-SMD 168 158 194
For this installation, you’ll need:
- Trim puller tool
- Slotted screwdriver
Step #1
Use your trim tool to pry it open a bit, then you can use your fingers to pull the cover free.
Step #2
We highlight here where the clips of the cover fit into the housing.
Step #3
Detach the three clips on the map light lens.
Step #4
Use your screwdriver to pry free the clips.
Step #5
Then use your trim tool to gently pull down the lens.
Step #6
Use your screwdriver again to pry free the next clip and remove the lens.
Step #7
We again highlight the locking tips.
Step #8
Pull free the incandescent bulb, replace it with the LED bulb.
Step #9
Test it and we can replace the lens.
Step #10
Push the lens in all around until it clips in place.
Step #11
Now we can repeat those same steps for the other side.
Step #12
Use your screwdriver to pry through the clips, use your trim tool to pry off the lens.
Step #13
Remove the incandescent bulb and replace it with the LED.
Step #14
Test it and we can put it all back together.
Step #15
Push the lens into place until it locks.
Step #16
Push the housing cover back up until it locks into place.
You can see how much brighter the new LED bulbs are. When we test the output with our light meter the lux of the LED is more than 10 times brighter than the incandescent bulb with 6000k white and more than 10 times brighter is a huge difference.
