Introduction:

Upgrading your license plate lights in your vehicle may not seem as a huge improvement, however, license plate lights can improve the overall look of your vehicle during night time driving. This blog will explain how to replace license plate lights on 2021 KIA K5/SELTOS with new LED bulbs from ALLA Lighting.

Compatible Vehicles:

2021 Kia K5 / SELTOS

Tools Needed for Installation:

Flathead screwdriver

The Following Information shows step by step the installation instructions on how to install license plate LED light bulbs.

Step #1: Locate the license plate lights

Step #2: Remove the license plate assembly

Insert your screwdriver into the tab opening.
Push the tab in and pry the assembly down at the same time.
Pull out the assembly.

Step #3: Remove the stock light bulb

Turn the socket counterclockwise to remove the stock bulb.
Pull out the incandescent bulb.

Step #4: Install LED light bulb and test it

Line up the slots on the socket with the tabs in the housing.
Install the socket and turn it clockwise to lock it.
Pro Tip: Test the LED bulb before installing back into the assembly.

Step #5: Install the assembly

Install the inside edge of the assembly first.
Then install the little teeth of the assembly into the edge.
Push up on the other side to lock it.

Installation is now complete. Repeat steps for other side license plate housing assembly.

If the LED bulbs are experiencing hyper-flashing, flickering, an error code issues, then load resistors for this application will be required to be installed. These issues occur due to the LEDs low current nature which draws much less current than original stock halogen bulbs.
