Easy replace 2019-2023 Chevy Malibu High Beam headlight to LED
Introduction: 2019-2023 Chevy Malibu
This blog will explain step by step how to replace the high beam bulbs in a 2019-2023 Chevy Malibu. The vehicle used for demonstration is a 2022 Chevy Malibu. We will be using all new high beam LED light bulbs from ALLA Lighting.
Compatible Vehicles:
2019-2023 Chevy Malibu
Tools Needed for Installation:Â
- 10mm Wrench
- Flathead Screwdriver
- Tape
The Following Information shows step by step the installation instructions on how to install high beam LED light bulbs on a 2022 Chevy Malibu also compatible for 2019-2023 Chevy Malibu.

Step #1: Locate the stock high beam light bulb
The highbeam bulb would be next the low beam; which is the inside bulb in the headlight housing. In this blog, we will start with the passenger side.
- Open the hood, and remove the air filter for more space (on passenger side)Â
- 3 clips hold the air filter in place, pull up on both sides to remove. Use tape to hold air filter up to create more work space
Step #2: Remove the incandescent bulb
- Start by turning the dust cap counterclockwise to remove it.
- Use flathead screwdriver to pull out tab on plug.Â
- Turn the socket counterclockwise to remove the incandescent bulb.
- Place dust cover on and turn clockwiseÂ
Step #3: Replace with the LED bulb
- Â Plug in LED bulb and test it (polarity sensitive), if bulb does not turn on; flip plug and test again.
- Once bulb turns on you may proceed.Â
Step #4: Install the new Highbeam LED bulb
- Line up the tabs on the socket with the slots and housing.
- Install the socket and turn it clockwise to lock it.Â
- The wire will go from the 4 o’clock position to the 6 o’clock position.Â
- Place the dust cap and turn clockwise to lock into place.
- Line up the clips on the air filter and push it down until it locks.
Step #5: Repeat the same steps on the other side
Step #6 (optional to create more space): Removing T-Bar and Battery Connection
- T-Bar (purple highlight), use 10mm wrench to remove three bolts in t-bar.Â
- Remove black cover, use your 10mm wrench to loosen the wire to battery and take it off the terminal.Â
- You now have extra space to repeat steps for Highbeam LED bulb installation.Â
