How to Replace Glove Box Light in 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan

This blog will explain how to replace an incandescent or prior glove box light bulb with all new LED bulbs from ALLA Lighting. This upgrade will make a huge difference in light up the glove box. Simple step by step installation.

Compatible Vehicles:

2019 Volkswagen Tiguan

Tools Needed for Installation:

A small flathead screwdriver

The Following Information shows step by step the installation instructions on how to install a glove box light bulb.

Step #1: Release the glove box for more room

There are two clips on the side of the glove box. Pull them up to release the glove box compartment for more room.

Step #2: Release the glove box light bulb housing

Locate the glove box light housing. Use your flat tool to gently push in and pry free the edge of the lens.

Step #3: Disconnect the stock wire connector

Pinch in the sides of the wire connector and pull it out.

Step #4: Remove the metal cover

Use the small flathead screwdriver to pray off the four clips holding on the metal cover.

Step #5: Remove the incandescent bulb

Pro Tip* Use s screwdriver to slide down the incandescent bulb.

Step #6: Install the LED bulb and push the metal cover back on

Step #7: Plug in the wire connector and test the LED bulb

Step #8: Replace the glove box bulb housing back into place

Push the end of the light back into the gap and push it up to secure it.

If the LED bulbs are experiencing hyper-flashing, flickering, an error code issues, then load resistors for this application will be required to be installed. These issues occur due to the LEDs low current nature which draws much less current than original stock halogen bulbs.
