The halogen interior bulbs may be too dim in your 2020-2023 Kia Soul, which can make vision difficult, especially in bad weather or severe driving conditions. Upgrading the old halogen bulbs on your 2020-2023 Kia Soul with new aftermarket LED bulbs can add a great new look to your vehicle and improve visibility at night for a safer driving experience.
If you choose to upgrade your old halogen bulbs to new LED bulbs, it is best to confirm you have the correct replacement LED bulb by referring to the original bulb or the vehicle’s direct owner’s manual.
We will show you how to install your new ALLA Lighting LED bulbs for your trunk cargo light application.
Here, we will work on a 2022 Kia Soul trunk cargo light application and replace the stock bulb size #6418 with ALLA Lighting 6418 LED bulb (36mm)
Tools Needed for Installation:Â
- Flathead screwdriver
The following information is step-by-step instructions on how to install your new trunk lights in a 2020-2023 Kia Soul with all new LED bulbs from Alla lighting (in video 2022 Kia Soul)
Step #1
The trunk light is located on the driver’s side, there are two clips to lock the assembly.
Step #2
Insert the screwdriver to pry out the top side of the lens. We highlight the two clips on the lens, this will be helpful when it’s time to close the lens after installation.
Step #3
Squeeze the tab on the plug and unplug the wire connector, we highlight the tab here.
Step #4
There are another three clips locking the lens, insert your screwdriver and release each clip
Step #5
Remove the incandescent bulb
Step #6
Install the LED and rotate it so the chips face out towards the lens
Step #7
Unplug the wire connector and insert the lens back into the assembly
Step #8
Plug in the wire connector and insert the assembly into the housing from the bottom to the top, you will hear a snap once it is locked in.

When we measure the light output the Lux of the LED is more than seven times brighter than the incandescent bulb, a huge difference to light up the whole trunk.

Congratulations! Your LED Trunk cargo light installation is now complete in your 2022 Kia Soul. If you experienced any issues during your installation and unable to complete installation, please contact us for assistance. If the LED bulbs are experiencing hyper-flashing, flickering, an error code issues, then load resistors for this application will be required to be installed. These issues can occur due to the LEDs low current nature, which draws much less current than original stock halogen bulbs.
