How to install LED bulbs in low beam application

LED bulb and halogen bulb in Volvo S40

You may find your Volvo S40 halogen bulbs are quite dim, which may make it hard to see in front, especially in bad weather or severe driving conditions. Upgrading your old halogen bulbs of your vehicle to new aftermarket LED bulbs can add a great new look to your headlights as well as  enhance  visibility at night for safer driving experience.

If choose to upgrade your old halogen bulbs to new LED bulbs, it is best to confirm you have the correct LED replacement bulb by referencing the original stock halogen bulb part number located in the vehicle direct owner’s manual or directly on the original bulb from your Volvo S40.  

Below we will show you how to install your new ALLA Lighting LED bulbs to your 2005 – 2011 Volvo S40 

Bulb size for Low Beam  application is listed H11 bulb size *bulb sizes may vary*

The following information is a step by step instructions on how to install your new TS-CR LED bulbs. *variety LED models available in same bulb size*

Compatible Vehicles: 2005 – 2011 Volvo S40

Tools Required: No tools required

Lets Get Started with LED low beam installation!!

Step: 1 & 2) Locate tab (near headlight housing) and pull bar straight out to unlock headlamp

Step: 3) Pull out headlamp from vehicle headlight housing

Step: 4) Disconnect wire plug to release headlamp from Volvo headlight housing

Step: 5) Unclip both locking springs

Step: 6) Remove dust cap to access headlight bulb

Step: 7) Twist halogen bulb counter clockwise to      unlock and remove bulb

Step: 8) Slightly open both side tabs and remove halogen  bulb from socket harness

HALOGEN BULB

TS-CR LED Model

Step: 9) Connect LED bulb socket harness to vehicle socket harness

Step: 10) Locate top tabs (widest tabs) and insert into headlight housing

Step: 11) Twist LED bulb clockwise to lock into      headlight housing

*Confirm beam angle is correct in vehicle headlamp*

Check the wire on LED bulb and confirm it is in nine o’clock position 

Step 11: 

Replace dust cap (step 5) and clip locking springs (step 4)

 

Step 12:

           Reconnect wire plug (step 4) and replace headlamp            into Volvo S40 headlight housing (step 3)

Step 13:

Reinsert pull bar to lock headlamp in Volvo S40
*Pull bar removed in Step 1 & Step 2*

Congratulations!! Your installation is now complete for 2005 – 2011 Volvo S40. If you experienced any issues in which unable to complete installation, please contact us for assistance. If the LED bulbs are experiencing hyper-flashing, flickering, or error code issues once installed in your vehicle then load resistors will also be required for application. These issues occur due to the LEDs low current nature which draws much less current than original stock halogen bulbs.
