2000 – 2004 Ford Excursion Best LED headlight upgrade & installation

How to install

You may find your halogen bulbs are quite dim, which may make it hard to see in front, especially in bad weather or severe driving conditions. Upgrading your old halogen bulbs of your 2000-2004 Ford Excursion to new aftermarket LED bulbs can add a great new look to your vehicle as well as  enhance  visibility at night for safer driving experience.

If choose to upgrade your old halogen bulbs to new LED bulbs, it is best to confirm you have the correct LED replacement bulb by referencing the original stock halogen bulb part number located in the vehicles direct owner’s manual or directly on the original bulb.

Below we will show you how to install your new ALLA Lighting LED bulbs to your 2000-2004 Ford Excursion low/high beam

Bulb Sizes for 2000-2004 Ford Excursion low/high beam is 9007

The following information is a step by step instructions on how to install your new ALLA Lighting 9007 S-HCR LED bulbs.

Compatible Vehicles: 2000 Ford Excursion, 2001 Ford Excursion, 2002 Ford Excursion, 2003 Ford Excursion, 2004 Ford Excursion

Tools Required: The following will be the recommended tools required for your installation.

Lets Get Started!!!

Step: 1) Remove the clips retaining the headlight housing. There is 2 clips located along the top and one in the back next to the bulb. Remove the clip by prying the clip away from the screw (similar to a brake line clip).

*Note: You can access the bulbs without removing the housing if you wish to do so however we have found this to complicate the installation due to space restrictions.

Step: 2) Locate the bulb retention ring and remove it by twisting counter clockwise.

Step: 3) Pull the bulb out of the housing and disconnect the vehicle harness from the bulb connector by lifting up on the clip latch and pulling the bulb and harness away from each other.

Step: 4) Note the tabs on the bulb locking ring as well as the tabs on the bulb. When installing the new LED bulb, at times the locking ring will not fit over the fan and you have to remove the chuck from the LED bulb to slip the locking collar over the bulb, then reinstall and lock the chuck so that the locking ring is in between the LED bulb fan and the LED bulb chuck.

For this particular vehicle and LED model, the locking ring is able to fit over the back of the LED bulb fan and allows you to insert the bulb into the headlight housing then slip the collar over the rear of the bulb and lock the bulb into place.

When the bulb is locked into the ring and the housing, the LED chips of the new bulb must be left to right with the LED chip furthest forward being your high beam. Most of our bulbs offer some adjustability to get the perfect beam pattern. The S-HCR LED bulb comes with an Allen key so that you  may adjust as needed. Please see the link below for an in depth video on the beam adjustment.

Step: 5) Once the bulb is installed, connect the bulb to the vehicle connector and test the bulb for power and beam direction. Once again the LED chips of the bulb should be left to right with the LED chip furthest forward at the top. Once completed repeat the steps on the opposing side to complete vehicle.

Best and Brightest Forward lighting Mini FL-BH 12,500 Lumens PURE white 6000k

Our best and brightest LED
The FL-BH

Introducing our brightest, most efficient, and smallest forward lighting bulb we have produced, our FL-BH model. This bulb was designed with new vehicles in mind, yet still compatible with older vehicle models. Due to advances in vehicle manufacturing, space in the engine bay/light housing can be extremely limited and may not allow for a regular LED bulbs to fit due to the large fan or heatsink component. This bulbs solves that problem as it is designed to fit in your traditional forward lighting housing due to the small fan and allow your dust cover be reinstalled to seal the bulb into the housing (results may vary depending on vehicle).

The FL-BH model is our brightest forward light coming in at 6,250 lumens each bulb for a combined lumen rating of 12,500 Lumens. For a comparison, traditional forward lighting are usually 700-2000 lumens depending on bulb. It has a new heat sink and fan design featuring a new dual ball fan for extended life as well as faster cooling for higher light output. This LED bulb will drastically change your light output increasing your visibility allowing for a safer, better, brighter driving experience.

Our FL-BH model is available in a wide range of bulb sizes including D1S – D4S, H1, 881 as well as offers adjustability if needed to have the LED chips of the bulb facing left to right (3 o’clock and 9 o’clock) at their optimal setting to project light from the sides of your housing and not the top and bottom spreading the light upward and not outward.

Please see our FL-BH model at the link below.

Not compliant with DOT / FMVSS108 and not street legal in the USA for Headlights. Legal for off-road use in ATV, snowmobile, and off-road racing use, only auxiliary for forward lighting. International legality varies by country. Note: This usage regulation is not unique to Alla Lighting LED bulbs. All LED bulbs from every brand, regardless of marketing claims, are prohibited from street use in LED headlights in the USA. Click here to learn more.

Our R1860-3000W LED bulb is our newest and most advanced turn signal/reverse LED bulb we have produced up to date. Due to the small size of the 921/3157/7440/1156/1157 halogen bulbs, it is difficult to get much brightness out of the bulb however we have found a way to maximize the light output.

1860-3000W

In order to produce a brighter bulb option we have manufactured an LED bulb that features an external LED driver, efficient heat sink, as well as offers an error free plug and play experience. In order to produce a brighter more efficient bulb we strayed from the traditional bulb design retaining the same  bulb socket (either 921/3157/7440/1156/1157

Because we had to stray away from the traditional design we had to incorporate a new way to retain the bulb into your light housing. We incorporated a heat resistant silicone rubber grommet that allows the bulb to be pressure fit into the bulb cavity as seen in the image below. No twisting or locking into place required. Simply insert into the housing and bulb will stay in place.

In order to increase the lifespan of the LED bulb we have moved the “brain” (LED driver) of the LED bulb away from the main heat component (the LED bulb itself) and placed it along the cord away from the bulb heat sink.

We have also added and expanded the 6063 aluminum heat sink to protrude through the rear of the bulb as well as incorporated a turbine-shape inspired heatsink to allow for better heat dissipation.

All of the added cooling allows us to maximize the brightness that we are able to get out of the LED bulb, as well as our thin copper PCB board gives the bulb 360 degrees of light projection. The 1860-3000W bulb comes in at 1500 Lumen per bulb with a combined rating of 3000 Lumen with a pure white color temperature of 6000k-6500k depending on voltage.

This bulb is Error-free meaning the bulb is CAN-BUS compatible eliminating the need for any load resistors or error decoders allowing this bulb to be a direct plug and play replacement for any bulb. (some vehicles will still require extra load resistors in extreme cases)
