Easy Replace Headlight bulbs 2020-2023 Kia Soul | LED Installation Guide

The halogen OEM bulbs may be too dim in your 2020-2023 Kia Soul, which can make vision difficult, especially in bad weather or severe driving conditions. Upgrading the old halogen bulbs on your Kia Soul with new aftermarket LED bulbs can add a great new look to your vehicle and improve visibility at night for a safer driving experience.
If you choose to upgrade your old halogen bulbs to new LED bulbs, it is best to confirm you have the correct replacement LED bulb by referring to the original bulb or the vehicle’s direct owner’s manual.

This installation guide shows headlight replacement bulb size # H4 for a 2022 Kia Soul
Tools Needed for Installation:
- Trim Tool
- Bungee cords.
The following information is step by step instructions on how to install your new H4 HB2 9003 LED Headlights Bulbs for Cars, Trucks, 6500K Xenon White.
Step #1
We will start by locating the headlight housing starting with the driver’s side. The driver’s side does not have enough clearance under the hood so we will start from behind the fender liner.
Step #2
To access the bulb remove all three plastic clips using the trim tool. Use the bungee cords to tie back the fender liner and gain access to the bulb housing.

Twist the dust cap counterclockwise and remove.
Step #4
Disconnect the vehicle harness from the stock bulb.
Step #5
Next locate the retainer clip and push down to unlock. Once unlocked, move the clip upwards to clear the housing opening.
Step #6
Remove the incandescent light bulb by pulling out from the housing. This is an #H4 incandescent bulb, the new LED bulb will have identical locking tabs.
Step #7
Next remove the LED chuck by twisting counterclockwise then remove. The LED chuck will have two notches to align with the LED bulb to remove and lock into position.

Align the LED chuck tabs with the tab opening inside the housing.
Step #9
Next insert LED chuck and bring down retainer clip to lock into position. Connect the LED bulb connector to the vehicle harness and test it.

Lastly insert the LED bulb through the housing opening (don’t forget to align the two notches on the bulb with the two notch openings on the LED chuck) Push in the LED bulb and twist clockwise to lock into position.

If you have not done yet, connect the LED connector to the vehicle harness. Put the harness inside the housing and reinstall the dust cover, twist the dust cover clockwise to lock.

Remove the bungee cords from the fender liner. Pull the retainer clips until you hear a click sound (this will allow the claws to come closer for easier installation) Push clips back into position.

Now let’s go to the passenger side, we can use the same method one or method two.

For method two, first locate the opening from inside the hood, then locate the dust cover and twist counterclockwise to remove.

Disconnect the vehicle harness from the stock bulb.

Next locate the retainer clip and push down to unlock, once unlocked move clip upwards to clear housing opening.
Step #17
Remove the incandescent light bulb by pulling out from the housing.
Step #18
Remove the LED chuck from the LED bulb, like twisting counterclockwise, then remove. The LED chuck will have two notches to align with the LED bulb to remove and lock into position.
Step #19
Connect the LED bulb connector to the vehicle harness and test both the high and low beam.
Step #20
Next insert LED chuck and bring down retainer clip to lock into position.
Step #21
Lastly insert the LED bulb through the housing opening (don’t forget to align the two notches on the bulb with the two notch openings on the LED chuck) push in the LED bulb and twist clockwise to lock into position.
Step #22
Place the harness inside the housing and reinstall the dust cover, twist dust cover clockwise to lock.
The LED bulbs are so much brighter in this 2022 Kia Soul. When we measure the output with the light meter the LED has a lux more than two times brighter than the halogen bulbs.
You can see the clear cut off line means the bulbs are installed correctly.

Congratulations! Your LED headlights installation is now complete in your 2022 Kia Soul.
